Pictures below in the wild flowers were taken by Sharon Alkus in her field of dreams...March 2010.
Drifter just turned 2 years old in these pics. His birth date is February 27, 2008
GWS Lenas Drifter (a yearling in the pictures of his poster-taken last summer/fall of 2009) is an AQHA registered 2008 Red Roan Stallion that is Homozygous for Roan (Rn/Rn) and Homozygous for Agouti (AA) which means he will always throw a roan foal and will always throw a bay roanfoal if your mare carries the black gene and throws it (ie: bay, black, brown, buckskin, grulla, perlino, blue roan, smokey black and even gray with a black base) as he will take the black and restrict it to points and then roan the base color. In the absence of a black gene this stallion will throw a red based roan foal every time. If your mare is palomino and throws the cream gene, the foal will be a palomino roan. If you breed a cremello mare to this stallion you will get a palomino roan every time.
He is Freckles Playboy and Smart Little Lena X Bill Cody, Driftwood and Jackie Bee bred. He will be taught, in the Spring of 2010, as a 2 year old, to mount the phantom, collect into an Artificial Vagina for Artificial Insemination and Shipped Cooled/Frozen semen across the country. Check him out and look for him in 2010 standing here at The Lewis Ranch Stallion Station to a limited book of mares for an introductory stud fee of $500 and a booking fee of $50 that goes toward that stud fee.
We offer an Early Bird discount of $50 off this stallion's stud fee if your mare is booked by January 1 each year, and another $50 off his stud fee if you book multiple mares or book with/refer a friend (you may even book to different stallions).
If you missed the Early Bird deadline this year you can still get a $50 discount off this stallion's stud fee by paying the stud fee in full at time of booking with your completed contract. This offer good until our Stallion Preview/Horse Sale on March 14th, 2010. Multiple mare and referral discounts apply throughout the breeding season and can be used in conjunction with this offer for $100 off each mare booked.
This is Drifter. His disposition is incredible. Sweet, gentle and willing to learn. He is athletic and smart and we have plans to compete in cowhorse events with him.
Shipped Semen is $175 for the shipping fee if you are shipping cooled semen to your mare and is a separate button as some mares are bred on farm and don't require it. Mare care is $7/day for a dry mare and $9/day for a wet mare when bred here at the ranch and paid when you pick up your mare by either cash or check, but if you need to use a credit card just ask for the bill to be emailed to you through my paypal account, before you pick up your mare and I can email you a paypal invoice for the correct amount to pay as well.
